Award-winning vocalist Stacey Kent joins the MWI touring roster. With a captivating vocal style, the GRAMMY nominated jazz vocalist has sold more than 2 million records worldwide. With 800,000-plus monthly listeners on Spotify, her 2017 release, I Know I Dream: The Orchestral Sessions (OKeh/SONY), has received over 20 million streams and was awarded Jazz Japan Award for ‘Best Vocal Album’. Released to glowing reviews, Downbeat Magazine gave it five stars; All About Jazz called it an “intoxicating understatement at its finest..one more jewel in a discography with many, it’s one that deserves singling out for its luster.” With 12 albums to her credit, Stacey Kent embodies the modern jazz singer. 

A sublime interpreter of the Great American Songbook as well as Chanson, Bossa Nova and original songs, Stacey’s repertoire extends well beyond her jazz roots. A french-speaking Grandfather introduced the young Kent to wonders of poetry which led her to a degree in comparative literature at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. A chance meeting in Oxford with Jim Tomlinson took her down a musical path and to the Guildhall School of Music where her love of poetry continued to drive her artistic vision. Kent’s collaborators include the Nobel Laureate, Kazuo Ishiguro, who has written lyrics for her since 2006. Stacey is a truly international artist who has graced the stages of over 50 countries across 6 continents.
